Pre-Doc or Post-Doc (m/f/x) at the Chair of Social & Economic Psychology
We are currently looking to fill two positions, for three years at the Chair of Social & Economic Psychology (100% or based on mutual agreement) as soon as possible: Pre-Doc or Post-Doc (m/f/x) at the Chair of Social & Economic Psychology The advertised positions are part of a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for 3 years. The project ("Transparency of Algorithmic Decision Making Systems", TrADeMaS) investigates whether explanatory approaches for algorithmic decision making systems (ADM) actually create transparency or only generate a pseudo-transparency. Although purely subjective satisfaction and emotional aspects are helpful in predicting whether people are motivated to work with ADM systems, they do not provide any information about the extent to which an ADM system has been understood cognitively and rationally - this is precisely what the project aims to investigate. Furthermore, it will be investigated whether the characteristics of certain population groups also play a role here (e.g. their cognitive abilities, level of knowledge on the subject of AI, level of education, language skills, age, etc.). The project is being carried out in close cooperation with the Department of Computer Science at the University Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU, Prof. Dr. Katharina Zweig). The computer scientists at RPTU are providing the ADM systems required for the experimental studies. Your tasks Planning, implementation and evaluation of experimental quantitative studies (laboratory and online surveys) Publishing research results in top-tier international journals Participation in the regular meetings of the members of the research project Your profile Excellent academic qualifications, preferably in psychology, economics, or business management Knowledge, and more importantly, a strong interest in the field of AI and computer science Experience in the application of quantitative methods and proficiency in using statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS) Problem-solving skills, along with a high degree of self-motivation and self-organization An international orientation and very good English language skills, knowledge of the German language is an advantage What we offer We offer you a varied and challenging job in an innovative working and learning environment with currently more than 230 exceptional and dedicated colleagues as well as 800 students, thirsty for knowledge.
